What Memories is
Memories turns the photos and videos you add into a short film for every month, with music, transitions and a title. Keep a project for a child, a year, a shared journey or anything else; months count from your own date, such as a birthday, so Month 1 really is the first month. Everything is made and kept on your iPhone, iPad or Mac, with no account.
- Monthly films, made for youWhen a month ends, Memories turns it into a film with music and a title.
- Albums that fill themselvesLink albums or your favorites in Photos, and new photos land in the right month.
- FlashbacksNow and then, a moment from a while ago comes back, in a notification or on the widget.
- Private by designNo account, and your photos and films never leave your device unless you share them.

Common questions
My monthly film didn't arrive. What should I check?
Months count from your project’s own date, not from the calendar, and a month gets a film only when it has photos or videos. When a month completes, Memories sends a reminder at 9:00 — if Monthly films is on in Settings → Notifications — and the film is made on your device when you open the app or tap the reminder.
If Settings shows Blocked in iOS Settings, allow notifications for Memories in the iPhone Settings app. You can also make any film yourself: pick a month on Home, or tap Build a custom film in Films.
What does Memories Plus add, and how do I restore it?
Memories is free for one project, with shorter, vertical films that carry a small watermark and a limited number of films to save or share each month. Memories Plus adds unlimited projects, every film saved and shared without a watermark, all aspect ratios, the full soundtrack library, year-summary films and films up to 90 seconds. It’s offered as a subscription or a one-time Lifetime purchase, and prices show in your own currency before you buy.
New iPhone, or reinstalled? Settings → Memories Plus → Restore Purchases brings it back from your Apple ID. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in your App Store account — Manage subscription, in the same section, opens it — and refunds are handled by Apple.
Where are my photos and films kept? Will they show up on my iPad?
Only on the device where you added them. Memories keeps its own copy of each photo and video and makes the films right there, on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. There’s no account and nothing is uploaded to us, so projects don’t sync between devices.
Your device backup, in iCloud or on a computer, includes Memories’ copies of your photos and videos, so restoring a backup on a new iPhone brings your projects along. Rendered films are left out of backups, because Memories can make them again.
Memories isn't adding photos from my albums.
Linked albums and suggestions need access to your photo library. To link an album or your favorites, open Settings → Projects, tap ⋯ next to the project, then Edit → Albums, favorites & suggestions. Only photos and videos taken since the project’s date are added; screenshots, photos of receipts or documents and near-identical shots are left out.
If you shared only some photos with Memories, linked albums add only those. Tap Open Settings on that screen and allow access to all photos — nothing leaves your device.
How do I free up space?
Settings → Manage storage shows the space Memories uses. Delete all rendered films frees the most: your photos and videos stay, and films can be rendered again anytime. To remove a single photo or video, delete it from the project — the original stays in your photo library.
How do I delete a project?
Settings → Projects, tap ⋯ next to the project, choose Delete and confirm with Delete project. Its memories and films are removed from this device; the originals in your photo library aren’t touched. Your photos and films are never sent to us, so there’s nothing to delete on our side.
